We know that there are so many young story tellers out there and we are on the hunt to find Australia’s best over the next six months. Writing a story can be challenging but don’t worry, Penguin Random House have enlisted the help of THREE amazing authors who are here to help you along the way by sharing their own ideas and tips to make sure your story is the very best it can be.

The subject and theme can be absolutely anything you wish so let your imagination go wild! You could write about a space adventure, you could be trapped in time or a singing superstar who's lost their voice one day before the big concert...It's really up to you!
We have three different age categories for you to enter into. Each of these has been assigned a dedicated mentor who will judge the short list of stories that come through.

LET YOUR IMAGINATION RUN WILD: Nothing is too far-fetched or silly to include in your story. Ask yourself the question "Wouldn't it be cool if ...?" Like "Wouldn't it be cool if you could fly and shoot lasers out of your eyes?" Well, that's how Superman was created!
TAKE FROM YOUR OWN LIFE: You could also write a story based on your own life. Was there a crazy adventure you and your friends got into during one summer holidays? What about the time Dad did the silliest dad-thing ever? Or how about when you played that amazing soccer game?
IT'S OK TO BORROW IDEAS: If you're having trouble, think of your favourite book, movie or video game and take ideas from them. If you love Harry Potter, you could do your own magic story.
