TERMS AND CONDITIONS
NATIONAL WRITING CHALLENGE
JUST KIDDING CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - SKILL
1. Instructions on how to enter form part of these conditions of entry, the competitions are open to all Australian residents between the 01/04/2020 and last mail received 11/09/2020. Employees of the promoter (including family members) are not eligible to enter. Entry is open to children aged 7-12 years of age.
2. The contest will be judged by a panel of appointed ‘Just Kidding’ representatives as well as external third party judges pre selected by Penguin Random House Australia. This external panel of judges will be provided a short list of entries as determined by Just Kidding. Final winners will then be chosen from this appointed shortlist. Judging for the contest will commence on the 14th of September 2020. In the event of a winning entrant not being contactable via socials, email or phone, Just Kidding reserves the right to select a new winner in accordance with these terms. Each entry will be individually judged based on creative merit within each of the three age categories and chance plays no part of determining each of the winners. Prizes must be taken as offered and are not redeemable for cash. Prizewinners will be published on the Just Kidding Website (www.justkidding.com.au) on the 20th of October 2020 as well as being published within Issue 8 of Just Kidding magazine, out on the 24th November 2020. The judge’s decision in relation to any aspect of the competition is final and binding on each person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into. The promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected mail. All entries entered will remain the property of promoter and not be returned to entrant. The promoter reserves the right to publish or post these entries.
If for any reason, the competition is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition), the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant who undermines the fairness of the competition (by, for example, tampering with, or using or exploiting errors in, the entry process to obtain a competitive advantage over other entrants), to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to any direction given under state regulations, or any written directions given by a relevant regulatory authority.
Entry into the competition is free excluding internet connection charges. All entrants are able to enter the competition as many times as they wish.
3. Prizes as follows:
The winner in each of the three categories will receive signed copies of their mentors’ books along with a personalised congratulatory video from their mentor.
The winning story in each category will be turned into a physical book for each of the winners to keep.
The winning story will be published and featured within the December 2020 issue of Just Kidding magazine.
Each of the three winners will receive a $300.00 book prize pack to keep for themselves.
Each of the three winners will also win a $300.00 book prize pack for their school
4. Total Prize Value = $3,500 + media coverage. All prizes valued in Australian dollars, the promoter is neither responsible nor liable for any change in value of a prize occurring between the publishing date and date prize is claimed. The Promoter reserves the right to supplement prizing with similiar prizing of the same value should any item not be available at time of prize fulfillment. The Promoter is not responsible for any prizes damaged or lost in transit.
5. Promoters are Yarra Media, Unit 2, 53 Henderson Rd, Yarra Glen, Victoria, 3775. Yarra Media have taken all due care and attention when choosing and publishing all content, names and recommended websites used in ‘Just Kidding’ & on the ‘Just Kidding’ website. Yarra Media holds no responsibility for accuracy of such content; however, feedback on our publication is welcomed.
All entries remain the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Competition, to assist in providing the products or services an entrant has requested (if any), and to improve its products and services. The Promoter or any of its related companies may use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, and may be in touch by any means (including telephone, email or SMS) at any time to let you know about products, services or promotional activities which may be of interest to you until you inform the Promoter otherwise.
